Chemical Engineering has improved our quality of life for more than a century through the design of innovative products and processes. Chemical engineers have participated in developing new materials, technologies based on biological systems, treatments for diseases, environment protection, power generation technologies, and the optimization of renewable and non-renewable resources.

B.S. degree of Chemical Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET

The Chemical Engineering undergraduate program of Universidad de los Andes takes actions aimed at its graduates so they:

  1. Apply chemical engineering principles to solve problems related to society and the environment in different scenarios (industry and research centers).
  2. Lead professional projects and apply tools and engineering methods for the analysis and design of products and processes, with an approach that spans molecular to macroscopic scales.
  3. Assume positions of technical leadership in engineering and other professional areas.
  4. Pursue lifelong learning by applying to graduate studies, going to seminars, symposiums, etc.
  5. Demonstrate a high sense of responsibility, autonomy, breadth of thought, and ethical practice of the profession.
